The other day I was in an office supply store waiting at the check-out counter. A female probably in her late 50s or early 60s kind of bent over had a type of file she wanted to buy in bulk, but appeared unavailable at the store. The check-out clerk called for assistance and this individual stepped to one side as I walked up to the counter. I was half listening to the conversation between this woman and the clerk. It went something like this: she inquired if she could order this type of file in bulk as she really needed this item. The clerk responded to the effect that she could order it in bulk but it would take somewhere between 1-2 weeks. She responded: “Its for the DMV.” To which the clerk responded, “DMV, well in that case it would take at least three weeks.” Well, I started laughing and so did the lady. He was kidding but anyone who has had to deal with California DMV knows things can be lengthy when you are trying to get something done regarding your vehicle. He then assisted her with her order.
The second funny. I was at the bank ATM in the process of punching in my code to withdraw some money. An elderly male to my left inquired if you had to deposit one bill at a time in the machine. I responded I had no idea and maybe he should go inside the bank to inquire. He responded still looking at the ATM, well I just deposited $200.00 but the machine says I just deposited a $100.00. I responded that he definitely should go inside and let them know about this situation. He is still looking at the ATM machine when he notes “Maybe its a democratic machine,” referring to the Democratic Party.
Sooo I just pass those two little funnies along for a giggle or smile for today.
