Perfidy is the decline of social justice wherein the establishment refuses to change due to self-interest. The inclination to maintain the status quo impacts the well-being of the masses in the lack of forward movement. Stagnation increases and a sense of futility among the population sets in further impacting the ability to change direction in social behavior. Unless there is an open acknowledgement regarding the decline of social openness and the ability to change direction, things will continue to either stagnate or decline to the detriment of the whole to the exclusion of the few who want to maintain the status quo.
