Heart centered energy with breath will refocus brain into different level of awareness. To move emotional energy from a Reptilian centered consciousness to a Heart centered consciousness you must center your cognitive thought processes thru Heart energy which takes a certain amount of concentration.

(Comment: I would imagine there are all sorts of books, magazines and internet information on breathing meditation exercises that would help redirect your energy towards the heart. It will take some effort to research but I would imagine you could find a meditation method that would work for you.)
