When physical buildings are abandoned along with the internal mechanisms that kept it functioning – usually it is a sign of the realization of a belief system which maintained the functioning within the building is flawed. The unresolved emotional energy which maintained the reason for the system through the people that existed in that space, though not recognized, leaves in shame and disgust. That is the reason the building and materials are left behind. This usually happens with mental institutions, prisons, hospitals, schools – any institution which is the result of unresolved emotional energy that is not recognized by the participants and belief systems are no longer held.
